With just 100 days to go until the 2018 Adelaide 500, fans can look forward to an epic line-up of entertainment for the 20th anniversary event, with American rock band +LIVE+ confirmed to headline Saturday night’s post-race concert.
+LIVE+ lead singer Ed Kowalczyk said the band is stoked to be returning to Australia for a special one-off performance for fans in Adelaide.
“The band couldn’t be more excited to return to Australia again next March. We are having the time of our lives and can’t wait to share this experience with fans at the Adelaide 500."
The band hit the track at Norwell with Supercars personality Paul Morris and Stadium Super Trucks driver Bill Hynes this week to give them a taste of what’s to come next March.
The original line-up of +LIVE+ – Ed Kowalczyk, Chad Taylor, Patrick Dalheimer and Chad Gracey – recently reunited for a worldwide reunion tour, bringing their explosive live show to Australia for the first time in over a decade.
With their critically-acclaimed album Throwing Copper (1994), +LIVE+ sold over eight million copies worldwide and cemented themselves as one of the most popular bands of all time in Australia. They held down five triple j Hottest 100 places and hit gold, platinum and multi-platinum on every one of their seven Kowalczyk-fronted releases.
South Australian Tourism Minister Leon Bignell said it was great to see LIVE as the latest big name act to join the 2018 Adelaide 500.
“The 20th anniversary of the Adelaide 500 will not only provide fans with fantastic racing and the thrills of our iconic street circuit, but also major international and local music acts to entertain the crowds as the sun goes down.
It’s going to be an action packed weekend and I know LIVE and our other big music names – Robbie Williams, Cold Chisel and Kasey Chambers – will put on spectacular shows.”
Adelaide 500 will deliver a massive schedule of entertainment to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the race in 2018 and +LIVE+ completes an enviable line-up of musical acts on stage at the popular event.
