The Super2 and Super3 series combines to run as one category again in 2024 with drivers behind the wheel of previous generation Holden Commodore, Ford Mustang and Nissan Altima V8 Supercars.
The series mostly features the next generation of Supercars stars as the predominant development pathway for the sport, although several long-time competitors are also involved.
In 2023, both Super2 and Super3 championships were decided on the streets of Adelaide, and both titles went to South Australian drivers.
Super2 is the category that sits one step under Supercars. Mount Gambier’s Kye Allen became the youngest ever series champion at age 18, keeping a level head across the VAILO Adelaide 500 weekend to overtake his main rival for the title and secure the win on Sunday. He returns for his second year in Super2 in 2024.
Super3 is the introductory Supercars category, providing a step-up from other touring car categories such as Toyota 86. Fellow Mount Gambier driver Jobe Stewart, 19, claimed the championship by staying out of trouble in a safety-car interrupted race on Saturday.
Whether the two South Australians can repeat their 2023 success at the final round of 2024 will be something no motorsport fan will want to miss.
